Houston, Texas, United States, 29th Oct 2025 – PrimeWay Federal Credit Union announced the Vital Impact Award, an annual program recognizing healthcare professionals across Greater Houston. Lynn Garcia, LVN, was selected as the first recipient based on nominations from colleagues.
Garcia works in transplant nursing at a Houston-area hospital. She received a two-night cruise for two, and PrimeWay presented a $10,000 donation to a local healthcare foundation in her name.
The award program was developed for the Greater Houston medical community. The credit union serves doctors, nurses, medical technicians, hospital administrators, and support staff.
Garcia’s colleagues submitted nominations describing her work with patients and staff during transplant care procedures. Nominators cited instances where Garcia provided support to colleagues during difficult situations.
T.W. Jolly, Executive Vice President at PrimeWay Federal Credit Union, stated, “Frontline healthcare workers like Lynn serve the community. The Vital Impact Award was created to recognize those who demonstrate dedication to patient care.”
Eligibility and Selection
The award is open to healthcare professionals working in Greater Houston medical facilities. Eligible professionals include registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, physicians, physician assistants, medical technicians, therapists, and clinical support staff.
Selection criteria include demonstrated compassion in patient interactions, impact on care outcomes, peer recognition, and mentorship of colleagues. Nominations are accepted from colleagues, supervisors, patients, and family members.
A selection committee of independent healthcare professionals reviews nominations annually. The 2026 nomination period opens March 1, 2026, and closes July 31, 2026. Nominations can be submitted through participating medical institutions and the credit union’s website.
The inaugural award ceremony took place in October 2025. The $10,000 donation will support patient care initiatives.
