WINTER GARDEN, Florida, December 03, 2025 — Robert J. Smith, MFA, and Ron Wallace, former President of UPS International, have announced a coordinated national initiative aimed at strengthening literacy, civic understanding, and historical education across the United States. The joint effort brings together Smith’s youth-centered writing and entrepreneurial programs with Wallace’s leadership research to encourage constructive public dialogue and renewed engagement with American civic values.
Smith, a former Fortune 500 executive in the financial services sector and now an award-winning writer, transitioned into educational work after a series of major medical setbacks ended his field career. He later completed graduate writing programs—graduating at the top of his class at both Full Sail University and UCLA—and authored several best selling titles, including the Influence in Action series.

On Liberation Day 2025, Smith launched Junior Patriots, a nonprofit literacy initiative that guides students through research, writing, and publishing projects centered on civics, national history, and community participation. “Our goal is to help students develop confidence and understand how their ideas can contribute to their communities,” Smith said.
Wallace, who previously served in law enforcement and chaired more than 30 civic boards, oversaw UPS International operations across more than 200 countries during his tenure. In recent years, he has focused on analyzing cultural trends, workplace behavior, and leadership models. His latest book, American Madness: Waking Up to Woke, explores how evolving social dynamics intersect with organizational culture and public discourse. “Strong societies require informed citizens and thoughtful dialogue,” Wallace noted. “Education and leadership play central roles in shaping that.”
Smith and Wallace have contributed forewords to each other’s books and frequently collaborate on literacy and civic engagement events across the country. Their combined efforts emphasize reading, writing, leadership development, and constructive civic participation—areas they believe are essential for bridging generational, educational, and community divides.
Smith’s Junior Patriots program continues to expand nationally, offering schools and youth organizations structured writing resources, mentorship, and opportunities for public-facing communication. Wallace’s work remains widely referenced in academic and corporate leadership circles for its analysis of organizational culture and decision-making frameworks.
Both authors have achieved #1 Best Seller status in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Their combined catalogue includes works on leadership, business, marketing, sales, and civic education.
