Oct. 3, 2025 / PRZen / NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Nashville International Chopin Piano Competition (NICPC) today announced a partnership with Lipscomb University to host the 2025 competition in Nashville, December 14–19. Recognized among the world’s foremost piano competitions, the NICPC offers the most exceptional young pianists from around the globe the opportunity to perform and compete for more than $100,000 in prizes before live audiences and a jury of the highest caliber. This marks the first edition presented at Lipscomb University, a partnership that provides an extraordinary platform to these brilliant young artists to showcase their gifts.

The 2025 NICPC features three divisions: Young Musician I (ages 5–10), Young Musician II (ages 11–15), and Artist (ages 16–33). Preliminary auditions are held by video submission and in person in Tbilisi, Shenyang, Prague, and Bangkok, drawing talent from every continent to Nashville. This rigorous process ensures that only the most compelling young pianists advance to the competition.

The competition culminates on December 19 in Lipscomb’s Collins Alumni Auditorium, where Artist Division finalists perform with members of the Nashville Symphony Orchestra in the Closing Gala and Competition Finals. This thrilling evening may reveal the next great sensation of the piano world—the artist worthy of taking home the namesake Alexei Sultanov Memorial Discovery Prize, the highest honor of the competition. In a historic cultural exchange, the People’s Republic of China has selected Rick Law, Hollywood creative executive and longtime Disney collaborator, for an unprecedented honor: serving as distinguished final judge for both the nation’s two most prestigious state-supported awards in animation and comics—the Golden Monkey King Awards (China’s highest official honor for animation excellence, presented at the China International Cartoon & Animation Festival [CICAF], Hangzhou) and the CACC Golden Dragon Awards (regarded as “China’s Academy Award of animation & comics,” presented at the China International Comics Festival [CICF], Guangzhou).

This appointment marks the first time a non-Chinese executive has served in this dual, top-level judging capacity for both awards in a single year.

In May 2025, Mr. Law was appointed as final in-person judge and presenter at the Golden Monkey King Awards. In September 2025, he was additionally invited as final judge for the Golden Dragon Awards, underscoring the trust and distinction placed in him by China’s cultural and creative community.

Oct. 1, 2025 / PRZen / DALLAS — Texas fabricator and Pontiac specialist Ted Fox today announced the Mighty Mule, an experimental reinvention of Pontiac’s late-’70s V8 architecture that has posted jaw-dropping dyno numbers in prototype form. In tests conducted at three separate facilities, the Mighty Mule recorded 464 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, a dramatic leap from the stock 1979 Pontiac 301 V8’s approximately 140 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque.

Engineered with re-designed internals, modern materials, and 3-D printed components, the Mighty Mule is built to showcase what’s possible when classic platforms meet contemporary design and manufacturing. While inspired by Pontiac heritage, the experimental package is being developed with cross-platform compatibility in mind, including potential applications beyond Pontiac and even select Ford models.

“The Mighty Mule started as a simple question: what if the ’79 Pontiac spirit had today’s tools?” said Ted Fox, creator of the Mighty Mule and owner of Scooter’s Garage in Texas. “We set out to respect the look and soul of the late-’70s cars—but unleash performance that makes modern drivers grin.”

Currently, the Mighty Mule remains a prototype/experimental program while Fox explores the path toward limited production and parts packages for builders and restorers.
